People young and old have the chance to get creative at a series of Lichfield city centre art workshops.

The free activities take place between 10am and 4pm on October 22.

The three drop-in workshops are part of the world’s largest drawing festival, The Big Draw. This year’s theme is ‘STEAM-powered’ – science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

Two artists are hosting sessions at Lichfield’s Three Spires Shopping Centre and Speakers’ Corner on Dam Street.

Councillor Helen Fisher, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for tourism and communications, said: “The Big Draw is a fantastic way to get the country drawing.

“This year’s theme is really interesting as it’s all about how essential art and the creative progress is to industries across the world.”

The project will also see artists running activities at schools across the district throughout October.
