The Cathedral Lodge on Beacon Street has been bought by the Webb Hotel Group.

The company has owned The George Hotel on Bird Street and Moor Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield.

Chief executive Angela Burns said: “We are delighted to have added the Cathedral Lodge Hotel to our group, as it has huge potential.

“We have decided to change the name of the hotel to The Cathedral Hotel, then in January we will start to plan some changes to improve the hotel and move the business forward.

“We are really excited about getting to know the team and welcoming everyone over the busy Christmas and New Year period.”

Formerly known as The Little Barrow, the 3-star hotel has 36 ensuite bedrooms, a bar and a function room.
