Lichfield City FC missed out on a place in the next round of the Polymac Packaging League Cup after a 4-2 loss against St Andrews.

Robert Morgan’s strike midway through the first half gave the visitors the lead.

But a Liam Holt goal in first half stoppage time pulled Lichfield level against their higher league opponents.

St Andrews restored their advantage through Eliot Putman just after the hour mark.

Lichfield pushed for a leveller but saw two goals in five minutes from Shay Brennan kill off their hopes.

Sub Pawel Smigielski did pull one back for City with three minutes to go but it was too little too late.
