Burntwood schoolchildren take part in healthy eating workshops

Children from a school in Burntwood have been finding out all about healthy eating as part of a series of classes with a local company.

More than 50 youngsters from Fulfen Primary School, in Burntwood, were treated to a Healthy Choices workshop run by Central England Co-operative.

The session featured a range of activities, including how to make fruit kebabs, understanding food labelling and the importance of portion sizes.

James Knight, from Central England Co-operative, said: “As an ethical retailer, we are more than happy to support our local schools to help teach the importance of healthy eating and why including five portions of fruit and veg a day and eating breakfast is important to a healthy lifestyle.

“Our aim is to educate and have a positive impact on the attitudes and behaviour of local people at an earlier age and I am delighted to have worked with schools in Burntwood to help them learn more about health and wellbeing.”
