The story of the impact of World War One on ordinary families will be told in a special production at the Staffordshire Regiment Museum.

Letters of War, written by Jill Young, will be performed at the Whittington museum on March 4.

It highlights the impact of the Great War on an ordinary Staffordshire family as it unfolds through the reading of fictional, but factually correct letters.

A spokesperson said: “Extensive research during the writing led to a piece which is both immersive, local in fact and thought provoking in present day.

“It has since been performed at the Somme Commemoration for the city of Stoke on Trent and for the charities Help 4 Heroes and Combat Stress.”
