Lichfield audiences to see new production at the Garrick before it heads to New York

Theatre-goers in Lichfield are set to steal a march on their counterparts in New York when Invincible comes to the stage next month.

The show has confirmed that the show will be heading to Broadway following its run in the city.

Invincible tells the story of how the recession forces Emily and Oliver to downsize and shift their middle-class London lifestyle to a small town in the north of England.

The Original Theatre Company’s production will be at the Garrick from March 21 to 25 before taking to the stage as part of the Brits off Broadway festival in New York from June 1 to July 2.

Artistic Director of The Original Theatre Company, Alastair Whatley, the artistic director of The Original Theatre Company, said: “I am delighted that after 13 years’ touring the UK, we have been invited to spread our wings and cross the Atlantic.

“From our early beginnings in Bury St Edmunds’ Abbey Gardens in 2005 to Brits Off Broadway in New York in 2017- it has been quite the journey. Not always an easy one, but never a dull one.”

Tickets for the Lichfield performances of Invincible start at £22.50 and can be booked online at or by calling the box office on 01543 412121.
