Two goals from Ryan Wynter helped Chasetown FC secure victory at Bedworth.

The Scholars were gifted an opening goal after just a minute. A hopeful ball forward was misjudged by goalkeeper Josh Barnes outside his area and Ryan Wynter brought a difficult bounce under control to fire into an empty net.

The home side really should have levelled when a crossfield ball from Lee Moore picked out Dan Creaney in front of goal but he blazed wide with just Curtis Pond to beat.

Bedworth did eventually draw level eight minutes before half time as defender Elliot Parrott steered the ball beyond Pond.

Chasetown regained the lead ten minutes into the second half though when neat footwork from Joe Thomas teed up Wynter to slot past Barnes.

The Scholars went further ahead as Jamie Sheldon shimmied and burst into the box and finished with confidence.

Bedworth created chances, some of which were wasteful and on another night they could easily have shared the points.

Wynter pulled the trigger in an attempt to get his hat-trick as the game wore on but skewed the ball well wide.
