Drivers are being warned to take extra care in Lichfield and Burntwood as high winds batter the region.
Storm Doris has already brought down trees in parts of Staffordshire, while power lines are also down in some areas.
Highways crews are working to keep roads open, but Cllr Mark Deaville from Staffordshire County Council called for people to take extra care.
“Storm Doris is already causing some difficult driving conditions and our crews have been out with the police helping to clear roads where necessary,” he said.
“It seems the worst of the weather may be yet to come, so we would urge everyone to take extra care and allow more time for their journeys today.”
