Call for Lichfield volunteers to help raise funds for Macmillan

Volunteers are being urged to help Macmillan raise vital funds in and around Lichfield.

The local fundraising arm of the charity says it has an urgent need for people to lend a hand.

Claire Modern, treasurer of the group, said a lack of volunteers could see it forced to turn down opportunities.

She added: “The work of the Macmillan nurses and therapists doesn’t receive enough credit, and Macmillan in Staffordshire need all the funds they can get, to continue doing what they do so well.

“So sparing a few hours or days a month, meeting new people, raising money and having fun while we’re at it is the perfect way to support the charity in the local area.

“We just hope there’s some more willing volunteers in Lichfield that can help to keep this fundraising moving forward.

“Our current volunteers all have different reasons to be a part of the group, but come with the same aim – to raise money for the charity that deals with an illness that affects so many lives.”

Anyone who wants to get involved can call Claire on 07511 010101 or e-mail claire@mordenhouse.co.uk.
