Two men have been arrested in connection with an assault on police officers in Lichfield.
Police were called to Upper St John Street at around 2am this morning (March 8) after reports of two men arguing.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “Two patrolling officers attempted to engage with the arguing males, but it escalated into a physical fight. The officers broke up the fight but were assaulted by one of the men.
“Both officers only received minor injuries and continued with duties.”
One man, 28 and from Lichfield, was arrested for a public order offence and another man, 30, also from Lichfield, was arrested for a public order offence and two counts of assaulting a police officer.
