Chasetown FC’s poor run of form continues with Bedworth United defeat

Chasetown FC’s miserable run of form continued with a 3-2 home defeat against Bedworth United.

The visitors took a 13th minute lead when Daniel Creaney found himself in acres of space inside the box. Curtis Pond made a superb save to deny his first effort but Creaney headed home the rebound.

Chasetown levelled in spectacular fashion though. First Leon Miles saw his shot saved by Josh Barnes and the partially cleared ball fell to Jack Langston, who volleyed an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net from 30 yards – his 20th goal of the season.

United regained the lead after the half-hour with some patient build up play opening up the home defence and Jack Jeys side footed home from six yards.

The Greenbacks extended their lead at the start as Creaney’s deflected effort wrong footed Pond.

Jeys should have made it four but missed an open goal with Pond stranded.

Mitch Piggon missed a golden chance to reduce the arrears with ten minutes left but blazed over the bar.

In stoppage time Piggon received the ball from a long Pond kick and slotted home from a tight angle but it was too little too late.
