Chasetown FC’s poor run of form continues with defeat against Romulus

Chasetown FC’s miserable run of form continued with defeat against Romulus.

The visitors took the lead after 29 minutes after a long range effort from Todd Evans beat Curtis Pond.

After striking the crossbar within minutes of opening the scoring, the visitors extended their lead in the 34th minute with Ricky Hill heading home from a corner.

Former Scholar Mark Branch was a whisker away from a third with a free kick from distance that was spectacularly palmed away by Pond from just under his crossbar.

Just eight minutes after the restart Roms raced into a 3-0 lead with a superb curling shot from Yohan Rutty-Smith that nestled in the bottom corner.

Chasetown offered little in response – their best chance fell to Michael Wright whose shot was blocked by Cameron Lee and then Ryan Wynter headed over the bar.
