Lichfield City FC suffer an afternoon to forget as they concede three second half goals against Studley

Lichfield City FC suffered a bad day as the office as they went down 3-0 at home to Studley.

An even opening to the game saw both sides carve out half-chances, Richard Deavall having the best for the hosts but he could only slice the ball wide of the target.

Keeper Ed Kelly had to be alert to block a chance for Studley as the two Midland Football League Division One sides continued to probe, but failed to make the breakthrough in a scrappy first half.

But the second half saw Studley grab the all important first goal as a free kick from out wide somehow found its way into the Lichfield net.

Josh Haston headed over as City sought out an equaliser, but the visitors struck on the counter to double their lead.

Any hopes of a comeback were finally dashed when a late Studley header found its way past Kelly in the Lichfield goal.
