Report backs plan for 12 new homes on land next to Burntwood school

A report has backed plans for 12 new homes on land next door to a Burntwood school.

Developers have drawn up proposals for three and four bedroom properties alongside Chase Terrace Primary School on Rugeley Road.

There had been objections from Burntwood Town Council due to the “highly over intensive” use of the site.

But a report to Lichfield District Council’s planning committee says the new homes should be built.

“The principle of residential development on this site lying within the sustainable settlement of Burntwood is considered to be acceptable,” the report says.

“It is considered that the applicants have submitted a suitable scheme which meets with the requirements of the relevant development plan policies and that the the development would not have an adverse impact upon the character or appearance of the surrounding area.”

The report will discussed at a planning meeting on April 10.
