His visit saw him pass on tips and advice to the next generation of players.

“After an intense few months helping England retain their RBS 6 Nations crown, it was great to be able to return to grass roots rugby,” he said. “It was great to meet all the young players and their enthusiasm for the game was incredible.

“I wish Barton-Under-Needwood RUFC all the best for the remainder of the season.”

The session was part of the Old Mutual Wealth Kids First scheme which encourages clubs to put the enjoyment of the game at the heart of the junior game.

Mike Mainwaring, Head of Sponsorship at Old Mutual Wealth added: “This session has been awarded to Barton-under-Needwood RUFC to reward the club for giving kids a great start in the game.

“It was great of Paul to support us and give these youngsters and the coaches a fantastic day to learn from an England coach.”
