Three foxes found dead in Lichfield may have been poisoned, the RSPCA has said.
The bodies were found over the past fortnight on Darnford Lane.
RSPCA inspector Laura Bryant said: “There are no visible injuries on the foxes, however I am concerned that there is a possibility that they have been poisoned, as it is unusual for there to have been three found in the same area in such a short space of time without an obvious cause of death.
“We are investigating and are keen to speak to anyone with first hand knowledge of this so we can look into it further.
“It is illegal to poison foxes. If anyone finds a fox which they suspect has been poisoned they can report it to the Government’s Wildlife Incident Investigation Scheme hotline on 0800 321 600 and us on 0300 1234 999.”
