The Jive Aces will be at the Guildhall on May 12 as part of an international tour.

The ensemble of Ian Clarkson on vocals and trumpet, double bass player Ken Smith, pianist Vince Hurley, drummer Peter Howell, Saxophonist John Fordham and trombone player Alex Douglas will be joined by singer Amy Baker.

The group average 300 shows a year and have performed for the Queen, as well as working with Van Morrison and John Travolta, playing at the likes of The Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace, the Glastonbury Festival and the London Olympics.

Lichfield Arts Artistic Director Chris Newcombe said: “The Jive Aces are one of the liveliest bands around.

“Their infectious music, and stage presence will bring a smile to the stoniest of faces, so come down for a bit of a jive – it will be ace.”
