Chasetown High Street to close as council bids to solve flooding problem

Drivers in Burntwood face more disruption as a flooding hotspot is tackled once more.

Works to solve the issue on Chasetown High Street in April failed to fix the problem.

Now Staffordshire County Council has informed residents that the road will shut for more drainage works to take place between July 5 and 8.

An emergency road closure notice states that the road will be closed between Edwards Road and Queen Street.

Great picture illustrating a driver avoiding (quite rightly) what they were not sure about by driving on wrong side of road.

Well done local residents who have been lobbying the County Council and knew the repairs they carried out previously were not the end of the saga – even if SCC were clueless.

Is there a local election on the horizon?

Hi I live at Spiway court so my car park is joined onto the main car park (seporated ny a coded security gate) thats in this photo. Will this prevent me getting my car in and out as I need it for work (lichfield)? Even the bus would use this road. If so id appreciate advice and ideally a permit to leave it somewhere? Thanks, Luke.
