A Barton school has confirmed a number of pupils have been involved in a “serious” crash in Birmingham.
Year 9 and Year 12 students from John Taylor High School were travelling in a minibus that was involved in a crash with a lorry on the A38 in Castle Vale.
No details of injuries have been released, but West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed a number of people had received treatment.
A spokesperson said: “Ambulance staff assessed multiple patients from the minibus at the scene, together with the lorry driver.”
Meanwhile, the school has asked parents not to ring in order to keep its phone lines clear. Updates will be posted on its website instead.
A statement from the school said: “A number of our Year 9 and Year 12 students that are on an Art Trip have been involved in a serious road traffic accident this morning. We are working to support those directly affected.”
