Flowers have been left outside a Barton-under-Needwood school after the death of a 14-year-old girl in a minibus crash.

Holly Brown died after the minibus she was travelling in on an art trip from John Taylor High School collided with a bin lorry on the A38 in Birmingham.

Floral tributes to the popular teenager have been left outside the gates of the school.

Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant said he was lost for words after the incident.

“I just can’t imagine how the pupils and staff must now be feeling after a fun art trip out ended in tragedy for a 14 year old pupil,” he said.

“My heart goes out to the girl’s parents and family and to the other pupils on the bus who must be traumatised and filled with grief by the experience.

“I know that Mike Donoghue, the headteacher, will do all that he can do to comfort those affected by this tragic experience.”
