Bromford expecting big interest in new Lichfield One city centre apartments

A multi-million pound housing development in the centre of Lichfield has started to rise from the ground as construction work reaches a significant phase.

The site in Lower Sandford Street has been empty ever since Bromford residents were moved out of the former Sandford Gate sheltered housing scheme in 2013 as part of the overall £14m Friary Outer project.

Work began on the £6million Lichfield One scheme in January and work has already reached the second floor, with the third and fourth storeys ready to begin construction.

When completed, the site will contain 33 two-bedroom apartments and car parking.

Penny Downing, Bromford’s sales and marketing director, said they expected the roof to go on by the end of September.

“This area of Lichfield has been completely transformed thanks to the £14m Friary Outer project and already we are beginning to see how Lichfield One will greatly enhance this part of town even more,” she added.

“With its close proximity to Beacon Park and Lichfield Cathedral, we expect Lichfield One to be extremely popular with a range of buyers including those looking for a first step on the property ladder and those downsizing and looking for that city centre lifestyle.”

A marketing suite and show home is due to open in January 2018.
