Two first half goals from Muzzy Nduna set Chasetown FC on their way to another pre-season victory.

The first home friendly under new manager Scott Dundas started brightly for The Scholars and they deservedly opened the scoring in the 10th minute against Port Vale.

Striker Jake Lovatt provided the assist with a dinked cross from the and Nduna’s powerful header flew in beyond Dequan Crockwell and in off the post.

Midway through the half it was 2-0. A short corner saw Port Vale concede a free kick just outside the penalty area. OIi Hayward drilled the ball low into the box and Nduna side-footed the ball along the ground past Crockwell.

The Scholars continued to dominate the first half but no further goals were forthcoming despite a number of impressive attacking moves.

The typical pre-season friendly routine of multiple substitutions affected the flow of the game and the visitors reduced the arrears 12 minutes from time with a long range effort from Harry Benns which flew past substitute keeper Dale Reaney.
