Daniel Griffiths double helps Lichfield City FC to victory over Alvis

Lichfield City FC showed a ruthless edge as they saw off the challenge of Alvis.

Dave Langston’s men were quick out of the blocks, Jordan Evans heading over before Josh Haston rifled narrowly wide.

City hit the woodwork midway through the half as they continued to push for an opening.

The goal they wanted eventually came when Craig Marshall was put in by Haston and made no mistake with the finish.

The Lichfield striker almost had a second shortly after but could only find the side netting, while Haston had one cleared off the line just before the break.

Marshall went close again at the start of the second half, before City doubled their lead when Daniel Griffiths rifled a strike into the roof of the net.

And it was 3-0 when Griffiths powered home from 20 yards out.
