A charity is asking people in Lichfield to help them raise money by looking after collection tins.

Marie Curie leaves charity boxes in shops, bars and restaurants across the area to help fund services for people facing terminal illness.

But volunteers are now needed to help coordinate the scheme.

Community fundraiser Amy Johnson said: “We’ve got some tins out in shops and pubs but no one to look after them, so they aren’t raising as much money as they could, which in turn affects the amount of support we can provide through our Marie Curie services.

“We’re looking for people who can go around sites in their local area once every three months to replace the full tin with an empty one, then count and bank the money raised.”

Anyone interested in lending a hand can contact Amy on 0121 7033717.
