Hundreds of film fans enjoyed an evening under the stars as Beacon Park held its first ever drive-in movie.

The screening of Grease on a giant inflatable screen on Saturday (August 12) saw the soundtrack to the cult musical played over car radios.

A number of visitors got into the spirit and dressed up as characters from the film, including T-Birds and Pink Ladies.

Councillor Iain Eadie, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for leisure, said: “It was a brilliant evening – watching a film under the stars with family and friends.

“Grease is such a popular musical and the atmosphere was fantastic with lots of people dressing up, singing along and dancing.

“Thank you to the parks team for all their hard work organising this event, in what is already a packed summer programme of events – it was definitely worth it.”
