Aladdin will now be at the city theatre from November 30 to January 6. CBeebies star Cat Sandion will be joined by panto dame Sam Rabone and TV presenter Ben Thornton for the family production. Tim Ford, the Lichfield Garrick’s artistic director, said: “We had an incredible day and it was wonderful to welcome the cast, the creative team and our sponsors, Chambers Group, to the Lichfield Garrick for the launch. “Aladdin will bring together some of the very best pantomime performers from across the country including top west end dancers and of course the wonderful Cat Sandion. “We are also very happy to welcome back the extremely funny Sam Rabone and Ben Thornton who I’m sure will cause even more mischief this year.” The trio will be joined by children’s author Ian Billings as the Emperor of China, Lichfield actress Lizzie Wofford as the Spirit of the Ring, James Mitchell as PC Pongo, Cameron Johnson as the Genie of the Lamp, Adrian Bevan as Aladdin, and Robin Johnson as Abanazar. Karen Foster, the Lichfield Garrick’s executive director, added: “We’re delighted to have added an extra week to our spectacular Christmas panto. “After last year’s sell out shows, we wanted to give more people the opportunity to see our wonderful family-friendly, all singing, all dancing extravaganza. “During December we welcome more than 30,000 people into the theatre and we love having so many of our local community enjoying their Christmas treat in their local theatre. “The cast is amazing this year and we are so excited to welcome them to the Lichfield Garrick.” For ticket details visit www.lichfieldgarrick.com or call the box office on 01543 412121.
