Lichfield City FC hit four to record win on the road at Pershore Town

Lichfield City FC got back to winning ways in the league with a resounding victory on the road at Pershore Town.

An even opening to the Midland Football League Division One encounter saw both sides share chances without breaking the deadlock, as Jack Langston saw an effort go narrowly wide, while Dan McLeod’s header was well saved by the Pershore keeper.

But Lichfield looked the more likely to break the deadlock and so it proved when Charlie Jones nodded home a corner to break the deadlock.

The lead was soon doubled as Jordan Hunt’s long range strike took a deflection to give City a 2-0 advantage going in to half-time.

Pershore were still a threat though and Lichfield keeper Jon Clough had to be alert to prevent the hosts getting back into the game.

But City were showing a ruthless streak in front of goal and when Ben Lund’s neat work provided a chance for Tom Green he made no mistake.

The home side did get a goal their efforts deserved as David Wilson netted from distance.

However, it would be City who would have the last laugh as Lund again created an opportunity, this time the recipient was Jordan Evans who completed a 4-1 triumph for Dave Langston’s men.
