Festive market and entertainment to feature ahead of 2017 Lichfield Christmas lights switch on

Crowds are expected to fill Lichfield city centre as a day of festive fun to mark the big Christmas lights switch on.

Taking place on November 26, the day will kick off at 11am with a Christmas market offering gifts, food and drink.

There will also be live music and entertainment from the likes of Blast Off and The Emma Jonson Band from 2pm, before the cast of Lichfield Garrick panto Aladdin pay a visit at 4.45pm.

The big switch-on and a visit from Santa will wrap up the festivities at 5pm.

This year’s Christmas lights have been funded by Lichfield City Council with support from the Lichfield Chamber of Trade and local businesses.

I do hope we have loads of people with big chains on the stage.

My kids don’t want to see Santa, they want to see someone really important, claiming expenses.
