The cast and crew of the Lichfield Garrick’s production of Aladdin are putting the finishing touches to the show ahead of opening night tomorrow (November 30).

The theatre has already experienced record advanced ticket sales and is expecting bumper audiences throughout the run.

Karen Foster, the Lichfield Garrick’s executive director said: “This Christmas we are bringing the sparkle, the glitter, the jokes, the singing, the dancing and more comic mayhem than ever, all specially written for our Lichfield and district audience.

“You would expect local references in a panto brought by your local independent theatre and we look forward to surprising our patrons with more amazing scenes, the most exciting set ever seen in Lichfield and a fantastic cast of performers.

“We are hugely excited to be bringing Cat Sandion of CBeebies fame to the Lichfield Garrick.”

Aladdin is the second pantomime at the Lichfield Garrick to be co-produced with Evolution Pantomimes following on from last year’s critically acclaimed Sleeping Beauty. Starring CBeebies Cat Sandion and the returning comedy duo; Sutton Coldfield based dame, Sam Rabone, and television presenter, Ben Thornton, the cast are incredibly excited to be performing in Lichfield this Christmas.

Sam Rabone will be donning his finest frocks once more as panto dame Widow Twankey.

“It’s so close I can almost smell it,” he said. “It’s a really exciting time in the theatre and as everything is given it’s finishing touches it gets even more magical.

“I’m so happy to be back in Lichfield this Christmas and giving my Twankey once more. Aladdin is such a great panto to be part of, full of magic and great comedy.
