Local businesses have helped give 13 families from the local area a Christmas treat at the Lichfield Garrick.

Families who use the the services of The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice and the Virtual School were given tickets to see Aladdin at the city theatre.

The Lichfield Garrick’s executive director Karen Foster and development officer Jonathan Craddock approached a number of businesses’ who were keen to back the drive to give some families a chance to enjoy the festive treat.

Karen said: “I am so grateful to the companies who were generous enough to make this happen.

“When I started talking to businesses about offering tickets to families who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to visit the theatre this Christmas, I was overjoyed to find that so many business leaders wanted to support the initiative and have been delighted that we have been able to welcome in families who would not normally have been able to access the show.”

The companies who supported the initiative were:

  • Central England Co-operative
  • JT Leavesley Group
  • OneNAV Computer Support
  • Colin Lee Opticians
  • Bluflame Design
  • Crisp Branding
  • Riviera Travel
  • AID Fuel Oils Ltd
  • City Jewellers Lichfield
  • Acorn Ford & Kia.

Mum, Emma Adams, whose family regularly visits The Donna Louise Trust for respite care, said, “This is a lovely treat for us to be able to attend the pantomime together and we’re really looking forward to the show. I’d like to say a big thank you to the Lichfield Garrick for giving the tickets to us.”
