Last-gasp strike sees Chasetown FC lose to Alvechurch

Chasetown FC were denied a point after a last-gasp goal saw Alvechurch leave The Scholars Ground with the win.

The game beat the early morning rain and the visitors almost took the lead when Curtis Pond was at full stretch to deny Josh March.

Alvechurch keeper Charlie Price was then equal to a George Cater effort as the hosts began to exert some pressure.

Clear-cut chances were few and far between in a tight first half.

After the break, substitute Danny Cocks was brought down within minutes of the restart. Jack Langston’s penalty beat Price but struck the crossbar.

Midway through the half, visiting striker Jordan Nadat span on the turn, bringing a full length save from Pond high to his right.

It looked as though both sides would share the spoils until two minutes from time when an inswinging corner was knocked goalwards by Nathan Waite and the rebound was netted by March.
