A consultation has been launched on a new Neighbourhood Plan drawn up for Alrewas.

The document has been submitted to Lichfield District Council by Alrewas Parish Council.

The Neighbourhood Plan outlines how the area could be shaped in the future and, if approved, it will provide a framework for development.

The six-week consultation process will see comments passed on to an independent examiner who will then assess whether it meets national requirements and can proceed to the next stage of the process, which is a referendum in the area.

Councillor Ian Pritchard, Cabinet member for economic growth, environment and development services for Lichfield District Council, said: “Well done to everyone who has worked on this plan. It’s a great achievement to have got it this far in the process and we look forward to receiving comments throughout the consultation.”

The consultation closes at 5pm on February 16.
