A Burntwood football team is celebrating after winning a new kit in a national competition.
Burntwood Dragons in their new kit
Burntwood Dragons FC’s under 10 team picked up the prize in E.ON’s Power Kicks contest. Lucy Davies-Morton, whose husband Stacey Morton has been managing the team for the past four years, entered the competition on behalf of the boys. She said: “The kit has come as a real boost. “They play non-competitive matches and are playing well together and enjoying themselves. They’re excited to get on with the season and test out the new kit. “Burntwood Dragons has a long history and is well established in our community – and these under ten players will hopefully come to play their part in keeping the club going long into the future. “The club prides itself on providing organised football training and games for local boys. Our aim is to encourage these youngsters’ passion for the beautiful game and new members are always welcome.” Michael Lewis, chief executive of E.ON, said: “I hope this new kit brings the Burntwood Dragons players luck in their remaining matches this season.”
