Commuters in Lichfield are being warned to expect a day of delays on the cross city line.

Train operator West Midlands Railway said services to and from Lichfield City and Lichfield Trent Valley were like to be disrupted for most of today (March 2).

A statement said: “There are currently no trains between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge and Redditch in both directions. A significantly reduced number of trains are able to operate between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield in both directions.

“This is because heavy snow fall is affecting the infrastructure at Longbridge and Kings Norton.”

  1. I understand if line side equipment fails in bad weather, what I don’t understand is the complete lack of customer care displayed by West Midlands trains , perhaps somebody for the company would like to comment as to why you treat your customers like crap, dumping them off at random stations in order to then run an empty train to destination thus leaving loads of frustrated commuters being late for work. We are your paying passengers . It seems just like your predecessor it’s money above everything else and customer care second , pandering to Network rail at every opportunity , and don’t give us the delay repay crud , about two quid on a season ticket for an hours delay is hardly compensation. Also don’t blame the weather, this has been going on since you took over the franchise.
