The ten men of Lichfield City FC let a lead slip as they went down 2-1 to Racing Club Warwick.
Jamie Hawkins’ men looked to be facing an uphill task when Dan Thurstance received a straight red card with just two minutes on the clock.
But the reduction in numbers didn’t hamper Lichfield’s attacking intent as Jordan Evans went close with a header.
The ten men then went and got themselves in front when Drew Aiton created a chance for Max Black who made no mistake.
City could have doubled their lead when Debert Massamba fired against the post from the edge of the box.
But Racing Club Warwick were still posing a threat with the extra man and Adam Jenkins was forced to parry a free-kick.
It looked as though City would go into the break in front, but on the stroke of half-time a low drive from Trea Bertie deflected past Jenkins.
Lichfield were to content to sit back and protect a point at the start of the second period though as Evans and Aiton both had efforts on goal.
But the extra man eventually told on 65 minutes when Richard Powell flicked home from close range after a corner.
City still plugged away in search of a leveller and deep into stoppage time sub Dan McLeod’s header somehow deflected over the bar.
