A programme of free bike rides around Lichfield is returning.
The Cycles Rides for All calendar kicks off on March 25 with a three-and-a-half mile taster trip setting off from Beacon Park.
Among the destinations planned for rides throughout 2018 are Fisherwick Lakes, Chasewater, Fradley Junction and the National Memorial Arboretum.
Councillor Iain Eadie, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for leisure, said: “Cycling is a great way to get some exercise and to visit some fantastic places across the district, so it’s great to see the new season on cycle rides start up again.
“We hope plenty of people will join in and enjoy the first ride around Lichfield.
“All the bikes receive a quick safety check by Freedom Cycles before setting off, to make sure they are roadworthy. We also recommend that safety helmets are worn and that you bring a packed lunch and drink, although there is a café stop on most rides.”
Anyone who wants to join the Lichfield taster ride can turn up with their bikes at Beacon Park in Lichfield on March 25 at 11am. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
