Councillors in Burntwood say they intend to get Santa to “speed up” when he visits the town this year.
The plans for the annual Christmas Festival will be discussed at a full meeting of Burntwood Town Council this evening (March 15).
An earlier gathering of the authority’s events committee has drawn up plans for the 2018 event – and include giving Father Christmas the hurry up.
“Members felt that having Santa worked well in the library,” minutes from the events committee said. “However, members felt that needed to speed up.”
The committee has also proposed that the 2018 Christmas Festival in Burntwood will take place on December 1, with the lights switch on at Boney Hay and Chasetown likely to take place a week earlier.”
Surely Burntwood Councillors have something more important to discuss than Santa in March. Heaven help us!
