Postponements and walkover result see Burntwood RUFC stretch lead at the top without playing

Burntwood RUFC stretched their lead at the top of Midlands 3 West North on Saturday without taking the field.

Harborne could not raise a side for the re-arranged fixture at The Sportsway and chose to concede a home walkover to Sean Latham’s men.

With nearest challengers Stafford, Telford Hornets and Shrewsbury all having their games postponed, Burntwood now lead the division by 11 points with four games left.

The club’s next two fixtures will go a long way towards deciding the final league standings. First up are Stafford this Saturday, kick off 3pm, and then a trip to Telford awaits on April 7.

This Saturday is also BRUFC Patrons’ Day. A full programme of activities have been arranged beginning with a pre-match meal from 12.30pm for Patron Members. At 2pm the club’s U12s welcome weekend tourists Darlington U12s.

After the Stafford game Kenny Payne and Friends provide post match entertainment.

The 2nd XV also face Stafford but travel in the opposite direction.
