The getin2it scheme is being organised by Lichfield District Council and will include sessions on trampoling, boxing, parkour, dance and gymnastics.

The workshops will take place at venues including Burntwood Leisure Centre, Open House at Cherry Close, Friary Grange Leisure Centre and Wade Street Church in Lichfield.

Councillor Iain Eadie, Cabinet member for leisure, said: “We’re really proud to offer a great range of activities to young people at a really affordable price. The sessions are popular, but we’re keen to encourage more young people to take advantage of them.

“Taking part in a weekly session is a good way to start a new interest, meet new people and get some exercise. Our main focus is in Burntwood, where we offer the majority of sessions, however, we do have a smaller programme in Lichfield, which we hope to grow.”
