Train passengers in Lichfield are being warned to check their journeys ahead of the May Bank Holidays.

Martin Frobisher, Network Rail’s route managing director for the London North Western route, said the work had been scheduled to keep disruption to a minimum.
“We try our best to minimise the impact on passengers and do most of the work behind the scenes,” he said. “However, there are big pieces of work that can only be completed when the railway is clear of trains.
“We would like to thank passengers in advance for bearing with us as it will mean some changes to their travel plans.”
Train travellers using the cross city line are also being warned that no services will run between Birmingham and Lichfield on May 26 as part of a signalling upgrade, with replace buses being used instead.
