Dame Patricia Routledge to lift the lid on her career at the Lichfield Garrick

The award-winning career of Dame Patricia Routledge will be explored at an afternoon with the star in Lichfield.

The Garrick will welcome the Keeping Up Appearances actress on May 27.

As well as starring as Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearances, Dame Patricia has also won a Tony Award for her Broadway performance in Darling of the Day and a Laurence Olivier Award for her work in Candide.

Her credits have also seen appearances in Carousel at the National Theatre and a UK tour of her one woman show Come for the Ride.

A spokesperson said: “In this fascinating encounter with the writer and broadcaster Edward Seckerson at the Lichfield Garrick, Patricia recalls this very special part of her career with access to some rare and treasured recordings.

“In the company of one of this country’s best-loved stars of stage and screen, Edward Seckerson’s diligent discovery of Patricia’s musical life makes for a enthralling afternoon of entertainment.”
