BB Training Academy has launched a partnership with Step Together to help create volunteering placeemnts for young people who have found themselves excluded from society.

Fay Gibbin, CEO of BB Training Academy, said the company’s 2,300 staff and learners were keen to take on the fundraising challenge.

“Over the next 12 months we’ll be doing our best to raise as much money as possible to help Step Together reach even more people,” she said.

The partnership comes after figures revealed 11% of young people aged 16 to 24 are not in education, employment or training.

Mike Silvey, director at Step Together, said: “A sum like £30,000 will be incredibly useful to our organisation as it allows us to grow and develop.

“Less than 5% of our annual budget comes without ties, and as such the money raised by BB Training Academy can be spent where it is needed most – helping young people to get their lives on track.

“We are really grateful for their support.”
