A group cleaning-up paths in Hammerwich has been given an extra pair of hands after Lichfield’s MP joined their efforts.
Michael Fabricant teamed up with councillors from Hammerwich Parish Council and members of Walsall Ramblers Club to clear vegetation and litter from footpaths and routes of way in the area.
“This was a long standing engagement which I had been looking forward to,” the Conservative MP said. “As a very keen walker, I know how important it is to clearing footpaths and rights of way.
“It is not just litter, it is clearing of overgrowing vegetation and the maintenance of stiles which help walkers on their way.
“Britain is one of the very few countries in the world with public rights of way and we should all work together to maintain them.”
