Lichfield driver Adam Christodoulou enjoyed a second place finish on his debut race with his Mercedes AMG Team Akka-ASP.
They were competing in the second round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup at Silverstone.
Christodoulou joined Tristian Vautier and Raffaele Marciello in the team for the three hour race and saw them qualify just behind the leading car.
The Lichfield racer kicked off the action and held his position and cutting the lead to the Aston Martin in front.
A pit stop saw the team leapfrog the leaders, but Vautier couldn’t hold off the resulting challenge and had to settle for second.
Cristodoulou said: “It’s been great working with the team and it’s a fantastic result for the weekend.
“The Blancpain GT Series is having an exciting season with many more cars on the grid. I’m looking forward to joining Team Akka again at Paul Ricard on June 1.”
Christodoulou will switch to duties with Team Inter Europol this weekend in a six hour endurance race.
