The choral society – which has been performing for more than half-a-century – will be at the Burntwood Memorial Hall at 7.30pm on June 30.

And the group say it isn’t too late for people from across Lichfield and Burntwood to join their ranks.

A spokesperson said: “We give three concerts per year, at Christmas, Easter and in summer, singing a wide selection of music ranging from traditional choral items, to songs from the shows, as well as spirituals and popular songs.

“In addition to raising funds to support the choir, we also raise money for local charities – this year we are supporting the Shropshire and Staffordshire blood bikes.

“If people would like to give us a try we would be very pleased to see them. We do not have auditions – people can just come along, join in and see if it’s for them.”

The group meet on Tuesdays at 8pm at the  Hammerwich Youth and Community Centre.

Tickets for the concert are £5 and are available on the door.
