More than 200 invited guests, including the Countess of Wessex, visited Alrewas to mark the unveiling of the the memorial commemorating the service of professional and voluntary aid detachment nurses.

Among them was 97-year-old Ethel Lote, who treated troops returning from Dunkirk at the Burntwood Military Hospital during World War Two.
