More than 2,300 competitors took on a 1.2 mile swim at Chasewater, followed by a 56 mile bike rie and a 13.1 mile run.

British duo Elliot Smailes and Emma Pallant were first across the line in the two races.

Cllr Mark Winnington, Cabinet member for economic growth at Staffordshire County Council, handed out the medals to finishers. He said: “The atmosphere has been brilliant.

“We’ve also seen many communities come out to support the athletes along the route too. Everyone has been getting into the spirit of the event and giving competitors that much needed boost as they reach the finish line, and it’s been great to see so many families in particular supporting their loved ones.”
