The Lichfield Garrick’s Day Group Choir has received a £1,560 boost from The Spires care home to help fund the launch of the group.

The choir is aimed at members aged over 65 and aims to help them meet new people and avoid becoming isolated.

The money came after an application to Barchester Healthcare’s charitable foundation.

Karen Foster, the executive director of the Lichfield Garrick, said: “The choir gives people the opportunity to come out and socialise during the day time.

“It is brilliant to be able to offer this lovely friendly musical activity. We always welcome new members and we would like to say a huge thank you to the Barchester foundation for their donation to help support the running of the choir.”
