Burntwood primary school goes back in time to mark 40th birthday

A Burntwood school has rolled back the years to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Children and teachers from Fulfen Primary School hosted a seventies themed event with former pupils also going along to join in the celebrations.

Other guests included the school’s first lollipop lady, a former headteacher, Aston Villa football Albert Adomah who showed off his skills and talk to the children about his career, and Cllr Pam Stokes, chairman of Burntwood Town Council.

Kids from the school were each given a commemorative teddy bear, an ice cream and a piece of birthday cake, before Lichfield’s town crier Ken Knowles unveiled a new sculpture at the entrance to the school to mark the landmark occasion.

There was also a talent show and other activities on offer at the event on June 22.
