England will beat Colombia in their World Cup last 16 game – if Drayton Manor’s ‘mystic meerkats’ are to be believed.
The animals have been making a string of footballing predictions during the tournament.
They are given a ball filled with mealworms and then push it towards one of the goals to predict the victor of games.
Chris Mitchell, Head of Zoo Operations at Drayton Manor Park, said: “Our mystic meerkats have certainly kept us on our toes this summer in anticipation of more correct predictions in this year’s FIFA World Cup.
“They have thoroughly enjoyed the animal enrichment, their moment in the spotlight and the extra public attention.
“We were delighted to witness the meerkats predict an England win against Columbia, a result the Drayton Manor team are all hoping for.
“We can’t help but wonder if our meerkat mob might be England’s lucky charm this year?”
